Smythe Rifle Blazer Redux

Just building a collection of Smythe blazers over here…

the Smythe rifle elbow patch blazer

I added to my collection of (wool) Smythe blazers. This rifle elbow patch blazer initially sold out in my size via the online DTC channel. Such a bummer!

However, I stalk ShopBop incessantly for sales on my favorite brands, including the Canadian purveyor of beautifully detailed blazers. Somehow, the rifle elbow patch blazer was not only available in my size but also marked down via ShopBop. A holiday miracle! Since then, though, the price jumped back up to MSRP on ShopBop.

I like my Smythe blazers in a size 16. That sounds huge, but they have what is called a “contemporary” cut. This translates to running extremely small.

the Mavi kendra straight leg denim

I have been sleeping on Mavi denim. So rude of me because with over 36 inch inseams, there is no excuse for me to be complaining about the availability of tall size range denim.

The fabric of the Mavi Kendra straight leg is fantastic and makes the pair nearly as comfortable as a pair of sweatpants. I also suspect that the pants have a longer inseam than the 36 inches as advertised. More ladies should adopt a straight leg cut over a skinny leg cut as it has the same effect, albeit more flattering. I also like the higher cut waist, who knew?
