Lacoste + Loafers

Watches Challengers once, serves up tennis style all summer.

And if you understand that the denim shorts are a nod to Agassi’s 80s renegade court style, then you get a high five next time I see you.

And like Agassi in the 90s, my hairline is receding, but mine is just temporary postpartum hair loss. 🤷🏻‍♀️

the stubbs & wootten tennis loafers

We took these photos on our way to grab tacos over Memorial Day Weekend. I had just woken up from a nap and my older son, still a little boy, said he thought should wear my baseball shoes.

I do not own baseball shoes. I do not own baseball cleats. My husband does not own either that I could potentially borrow, so we were genuinely curious to learn what he meant. My son ran upstairs to grab the shoes, followed by my husband because even the little boy requires supervising in Mommy’s custom closet. They returned with my Stubbs & Wootton velvet tennis loafer.

I had just seen Challengers the Friday immediately prior to MDW, so I immediately agreed that I should wear the tennis loafers. Then we explained the difference between baseball and tennis. 🎾

the lacoste polo

I had a break in at my old apartment on the west end and amoung the items the burglar made off with was my bright blue Lacoste polo shirt. It was a rigid pique fabric, had an extended placket, and I loved it, despite being ever-so-cropped on me. To replace it, I bought a series of Lacoste polos during the summer of 2011. Red, black, navy blue, oh and a light blue that replaced the stolen one. You would have thought I was prepping a BTS wardrobe for a private school based on the shades. I was just covering my bases.

Thirteen years later and I am still wearing those polo shirts. They are now teenagers.

I am wearing the polo in a French size 42.

After the photos and outfit credits, more Lacoste-sourced tenniscore pieces.
