Over the past three months, after clocking the Rittenhouse Square location, I finally made a habit of visiting Glowbar. The first time, my husband had just returned from a month away for work, my right side of my face had been involuntarily twitching (still is) and I was desperate for some degree of relaxation.
After that first visit, I was so impressed with the service that I signed up for the membership. Like the Drybar Barfly membership, the 65 dollar Glowbar membership charges by the month and allows one thirty minute facial for that month.
- Each client fills out an intake form indicating specific skin concerns: redness, dullness, aging, acne, you know the drill
- After the intake form, each client gives their face a good washing with the Expert Cleanser. (I prefer to stop at Sephora on my way over for a set of travel sized makeup wipes.) An aesthetician calls each client back to a semi-private room, where they can relax on a bed comparable to what you would see at a day spa.
- According to what the client concerns are on the intake form, the aesthetician will customize an express facial. Dermaplaning, extractions, cavitation, high frequency, chemical peels, microcurrent, hydrating masks, and LED light therapy are all on the menu. The best part is that there are no charges tacked on top of the price.
I like the high frequency want and the LED light therapy for my rosacea and though I love an express facial, if I could double it to an hour, I totally would.
Since that fateful day in August when I initially gave Glowbar a shot, I have returned at least three more times on a monthly basis. I always look forward to the visit; it is such an accessible price that I never feel guilty in the indulgence.
