Pack a Bag: The Blue @iguanainnsojai Part II

part I…

Perhaps it was because I was a few days out from the office and all of the associated deadlines, but I could feel myself mentally relax as we were driving from the east coast to the west coast. Conversely, because we were in the car for seven days, I think we both were physically becoming more tense as the week long went progressed. For my husband, this was compounding pulling something in his back from packing. Thank goodness for seat warmers, or essentially full back and seat heating pads, amirite?

As I mentioned in part I, the Blue Iguana Inn was the ideal conclusion to our seven night cross country road trip. There was so much to do and the Inn staff was amazing at facilitating our stay in Ojai. The Iguana Inns have so much to offer, including bicycle rentals.

We had an amazing taco lunch at Jim and Rob’s Fresh Grill. Ordering a quartet of tacos each may have been overkill, but the food looked so delicious that I had to try four. The restaurant was walking distance from the Ojai Vineyard tasting room, which was recommended by the team at the Iguana Inns. Our tasting consisted of a Rose, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, San Soufre Ajoute, and Syrah. If not for a full car (we literally had to unpack a suitcase worth of clothes on the first night in Baltimore when we were staying with our friends and I shipped it to our rental out west – just to keep the car from scraping), we would have brought some bottles to our home for four months.

The pool is not heated but there is a jacuzzi for the days when there is a chill in the air. As relaxing as a hot tub is, the best part of the stay at the Blue Iguana Inn were the in suite massages that I booked. Yes, the Iguana Inns offers guestroom spa services, in which I ten-out-of-ten recommend indulging. I could not have imagined a better ending to an eight day road trip. It was a reminder that self-care is the best investment and I should do it more often.

Sincerest thanks to The Blue Iguana Inn for sponsoring our stay.
