Every time fall rolls around, I think about this iconic McSweeney’s piece from Colin Nissan. The first time I read it was shortly after it was released, I was sitting at my cube at my internship at the National Park Service Cultural Resources headquarters, and I nearly peed myself from laughing so much. I mean, “It’s fall, fuckfaces. You’re either ready to reap this freaky-assed harvest or you’re not.” If that isn’t the most iconic statement to grace the autumnal season then, I don’t know what.
Today my family engaged in one of the most autumnal activities: picking a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch. We found the most perfectly proportioned large one and little one for the Pamper Pirate. The Pamper Pirate looked ever amazed during the first ever pumpkin patch trip.
Afterwards, we enjoyed dishes of fried seafood and cocktails outdoors at Cuz’s in Bay Saint Louis. I ended up so full that I ordered my bread pudding to go. What can I say, it’s soon-to-be sweater season for me. I’ll gain if I want to!
