Stubbs & Wootton was founded in 1993 in Palm Beach. During my last trip there, I even went to the boutique. In addition to selling DTC, Neiman Marcus and J.Crew are also purveyors of the fine footwear brand popular with ladies who lunch and gentleman of leisure. Though the company is headquartered in Palm Beach with showrooms in California, Manhattan, and Greenwich, the shoes are made in Spain.
a note on sizing
I indulged in a pair of velvet loafers during the Cyber Monday sale. Along with mine, I bought my husband a pair. Both my husband and I ended up exchanging for a half larger size. The upside is that my loafers took next to no time to break in. They even withstood a spill on the icy Kazakhstan sidewalks sans moisture staining.
