What to wear on a 93 degree day?
Last spring during quarantine, I discovered the chicest line of caftans. The company was founded by two sisters who believe that caftans are the next coming of athleisure and I am here for it!
Throwing out all of my leggings in lieu of caftans right now. (Okay. Not really. Those Lululemon Wunder Unders were expensive and my bank account would betch slap me if I threw out the workout staple.) This line of caftans are made in India which lends an air of authenticity.
I love this particular one for the length, the vivid color, and the fact that it is lined. It is the perfect thing to wear dining alfresco on a 93 degree evening.
I scored this necklace back in 2005 at a boutique on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Sidebar: Does anyone else remember the peak of the high end boutique economy? Each one carried one of two lines of premium denim (7fam, Citizens of Humanity, AG, James, Joe’s, Ernest Sewn, Taverniti So, Rock & Republic, True Religion, Red Engine, Collins, Blue Cult, Paige, Hudson, am I missing any?), tops to match, and fancy frocks. Usually college towns had many an independent boutique, especially those in SEC country. I spent bounties in those boutiques.
As my toddler sat in my lap while we awaited my food, he would not stop playing with the strands of beads in the necklace. I shared with my husband how long I owned it. Sixteen years! The necklace would be old enough to drive.
