In lieu of the weekly-ish sales round-up, I want to discuss the upcoming Tuckernuck Online Sample Sale. But first, story time…
Around this time two years ago, I was in my Lyft on my way home from the office and per my usual commute, flew past the old Rodeo Drive of DC. (IYKYK.) That night though, I found myself perplexed to see the longest line of women winding out of a previously dark storefront at the Shops at Wisconsin Place. Tuckernuck signage illuminated the once sad and empty storefront that was once home to an Anthropologie. A quick Google search informed me that a temporary sample sale pop up added the Tuckernuck presence to north Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, in addition to it’s evergreen Georgetown brick-and-mortar address on the same street albeit much more south. Being in the beginning of my third trimester with the Pamper Pirate, I was in no mood for shopping, not even the best of sales at a favorite, local retailer.
Again this year, presumably due to the pandemic and last year’s success of moving the sale online, the previously brick-and-mortar hosted sample sale is no longer location-restricted. These are the details:
- 50% to 85% off 1,500 styles across all sizes
- The sale will be open to the public next Tuesday, January 25th at noon eastern and run until the 27th (ostensibly midnight EDT).
- New to the sample sale: the $50 VIP ticket will allow you to shop the online sample sale via special link (which will be emailed) on Tuesday, January 25th from 9 am to noon eastern, before it opens to the public. (Don’t be sketchy and try to share with a friend because the link works on one computer only.) There are a limited number of the VIP tickets available.
- You might be thinking, “Is the ticket worth it?” That is really up to you. Last year’s online sale had a virtual line that rivaled the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale.
- Shipping will be a standard flat $5 rate.
- Sign in and update your information prior to the sale going live. If you have not yet registered, you may do so here.
- All Tuckernuck Sample Sale purchases are final.
While I will not be shopping this year {Year of Less, remember?}, it is worth keeping an eye out for Ro’s Garden (specifically the Clorinda Caftan, thank me later), Barbour, Juliet Dunn, Jennifer Behr, Lele Sadoughi, Mirth, and Roller Rabbit, as well as caftans and block prints. I could go hard and pick out an obscene selection of stuff in hopes that you click but I am going a different direction than {most} bloggers.
These are my legitimate selections, because you know, I actually wear them {again and again} or at least have already featured them throughout the year on my Covet page. The items and after the jump, the proof:
