If it is warm in Central Asia, it is warm in New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Put down the fall product, ladies!
the Loveshackfancy antonella dress
I indulged in this dress during my summer of Loveshackfancy. While I was unable to fit into the largest size available (rude Loveshackfancy, btw) comfortably last year, I knew I loved it enough to hang onto it because I knew I was larger than my typical size.
Cut to this year and less twenty plus pounds. It fits, easily so. The tie shoulder straps are the hardest part to manage. I actually had to enlist my husband to tie them and they still ended up uneven. I will try to retie one in order to match the better tied side. I say that because this is not the last time I will wear this dress. I see myself busting out this style at the beginning of spring next year because the entire world needs to see this indigo dyed dress.
I am wearing a size 14 in the dress. I find that Loveshackfancy sizing is not consistent as I wear a size 10 in some styles and, like this dress, a size 14 in others. For that reason I do not like to buy the brand on final sale.
the Cartier tank watch
After years of sporting my Timex Weekender, I invested in a new watch prior to leaving the states. It is one that I am sure some people think is a luxury “starter” watch, but I love it.
This was not a purchase I took lightly. As always, in order to get comfortable with the price, I did the math on how many hours it would take me to earn the watch at my post-tax hourly break down. Though I considered an entry level version, I really had my eye on this one for awhile and even noted the price increases through the years. I picked the dual tone gold and steel so that I could wear it no matter what jewelry I select on any given day. I even considered the small version, but alas it felt too petite for me.
Finally I thought, the sooner I buy it, the sooner I can wear it and start lowering the price per wear. While I procured my at the designer’s outpost in Tyson’s Gallerias, there are options available on Net-a-Porter and the secondary market. As always, if you chose that route do your due diligence to make sure you are purchasing the real thing.
