Sarah Flint Emma Fit Guide

The Sarah Flint Emma is the unsung hero from the Sarah Flint brand.

This block heel works year round. In as many colorways and fabrics the Emma is available, the style can take you to so many occasions. I like it as a conservative alternative to the higher Perfect Pump 85, especially when it comes to taking the Acela from 30th Street Station to Union Station for the day and back. Not even I am down for tottering down onto the platform and thanks to the Emma, I don’t have to!

the Sarah Flint Emma fit

I learned from the size ten incident of 2020. The TLDR version is that I previously ordered a Sarah Flint Natalie in leather in a size ten, which was my pre-baby size. My feet did not exactly go back to their previous size (I hear it happens, don’t judge), but I just figured the tens would fit. I learned my lesson the hard way after taking the Natalie out for a spin therefore scratching up for sole thus making them unreturnable, and wearing the most brutal blisters on my feet.

I could have just accepted that my feet were larger and ordered a bigger size. Alas, no.

While you can typically count on leather and suede shoes to stretch width wise, such is not the case with velvet, jacquard, and other fine fabrics. Consequently, I ordered the Emma in a size eleven. Again, because it is a fabric version, I went with the larger size. Perfect fit!
