I bought this blazer at the beginning of 2021, when I didn’t know when the next time I would be seeing friends IRL again. It had been awhile since J.Crew had released a schoolboy-style (also known as Rhodes) blazer so I jumped at it. Since then, the brand has not offered the shape, rather moving toward boxier, more minimalist styles.
I love the herringbone fabric. It the perfect layer for summer; great for fighting the office central air conditioning.

the polo ralph lauren dress
This dress is was another pandemic purchase and I do not regret it. I have worn it several times, even to dinner with the Canadian and South Korean counterparts while living in Kazakhstan.
While this dress is long gone from the Ralph Lauren website, it has been reissued in solid yellow and navy dot print. I do not love that the fabric is polyester [and you all should know how I feel about polyester at this point, especially spending big on {non-athletic} items made from the synthetic fabric] but this crepe does not bother me so much. I think it is because it is not polyester masquerading as silk or satin.
My favorite part is the pleated and draped bodice. It is so beautifully pleated with a back zip and hook and eye closure. Can we talk about the twisted neckline? Gorgeous. I cannot see it not be flattering on most bodies and this dress goes up to a straight size 18.
