Frequent readers of Lucindervention may recall that I bought the Banana Republic Eliana silk-cotton dress earlier in the spring. I ordered the dress in a size small tall. Despite the tall size, the elastic waist still fit too short on my torso. I returned it and decided that even the right size would not be worth the then-full price of 250 dollars.
I could not get the dress out of my head. I love the 1980s reference of the style. Dynasty anyone? As such, I stalked the dress into a thirty percent off promotion on top of a markdown. I ordered the Eliana dress in the same clear blue color, in a size medium tall.

I finally bought a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes. I was struck by the fresh blue and white grosgrain stripe colorway in the Mayslibi heels. I was so struck in fact, that I hunted down my size at SSENSE, a new to me etailer out of Canada. It was at SSENSE that I found the pink colorway, as well as the flat version also in pink. Lightning fast shipping from our neighbor from the north, by the way!
I am wearing the heels in an IT size 41.5. Previously I had returned a pair of IT size 41.5 closed heel and toe flats. The lesson I learned is when it comes to Manolo Blahnik, the slingback heel accommodates a foot a half size larger than the closed flat.
