Banana Republic Scarf Dress

As I was waiting on an elevator, a dapperly dressed gentleman who works in the other office on the floor of my company’s, stopped me and complimented this outfit.

Merci beaucoup!

the banana republic silk scarf midi dress

I was immediately taken with the Banana Republic Silk Scarf Midi Dress the moment that I spied it upon release. Banana Republic has been getting much better about less synthetic satin (i.e. poly), more natural silk. (Could be better, let’s chat, BR!) even better? It – and the sleeveless blouse version – are each available in tall.

Aside from a pair of earrings, no need for accessories here. In addition to the genuinely luxe fabric, the scarf detail is a major design draw. Tie it in a big bow a la 1970s Farrah Fawcett on Charlie’s Angels, or loop it loosely in a knot like the product photo.

This dress runs true to size, possibly running on the larger size. I am wearing this dress in a size large tall.

the j.crew colette d’orsay pumps

The J.Crew Colette d’Orsay Pumps made their debut on the blog eight years ago. A shoe that I originally purchased to wear for engagement shoes and subsequently wore all over the Georgetown cobblestone streets, they have since made a seasonal appearances on the blog and even more frequent appearances IRL.

Two pregnancies and subsequent feet swelling later, and I can squeeze into the shoes. I will say that I was able to wear them to work and hobble home with my oldest from a recent neighborhood school autumn festival in the pumps. I am wearing them in my old typical size ten; I could use a size eleven these days
