I have been shopping like a maniac. Granted that most of the stuff I found and liked has been from the tall size range, on promotion at Gap and Banana Republic. Obviously Banana Republic has been great since the pandemic forward, but when did Gap get so good again? Standouts from both brands include knits of the funnel neck and turtleneck variety, cashmere sweater dresses, 36.5″ inseam slouchy bootcut denim, silk scarf neck midi dress, and pants for Bebe Deux.
Petite Garcon is growing like a weed and though he is still in a size four, I wanted to have a few neutral size five pants on deck so that the situation does not sneak up on me.
I bought several pairs of boxer shorts from Anthropologie. And then I ordered two more. They, along with whatever clean tee shirt is at the top of the pile, is my favorite option to change into when I come straight home from work, whenever I skip the Barry’s or yoga or reformer class. It is the ideal outfit for five o’clock, nobody-else-at-home chores.
I love the cream eyelet Dr. Scholl’s x Free People sandals so much, that I bought the blue denim colorway. It should not be shocking, but I remain astounded by how comfortable the iconic sandals are. Dr. Scholl’s, believe the hype! Speaking of collaborations of the URBN family of brand variety, I learned of the Urban Outfitters x Kate Spade collaboration entirely too late, but late enough to score the 90’s stripe version on sale. Act now, it is on further promotion for sixty dollars.
Lastly, I bought myself a pair of Chanel Slingback Pumps as a reward for solo managing the boys and my new job while my husband was out of town for work for a week.
