I Bought It / I Like It

I didn’t like everything I ordered. Let’s get into it.

I jumped over to the Mavi website after wearing a pair of the straight leg Kendra denim to work and remembering how much I love them. So much so that I have two pairs of the same wash in different sizes for the days that I teeter on the fitter side. The tall size range falls in and out of stock and on this particular day there were two washes available in my size and length. I bought them both, a dark and an indigo, but not before realizing that I already have the latter wash, yes, the one I have in two sizes already. So that wash is going back. My fault.

I love the Rhode dress. I am always into green. Sage was my wedding color. It is an earth tone without being a boring neutral. Kelly or forest or any vibrant shade in between, I will take it! I found the Rhode dress on sale in a major department store and scooped it up. A drop waist works wonders on a tall gal and this one is no exception!

On the green note, I ordered a forest green velvet suit and the blazer arrived solo first. Both came in tall so it was a no brainer for holiday dressing. The blazer fits and the quality is tops; standby for intel on the pants.

I ordered a laminated black pencil skirt. It is giving patent leather without being faux, which is the direction that the rest of the website is trending. It was exactly what I hoped for.

I ordered a size 31 and 32 long in a pair of embellished wide leg denim. The item description said that the tall size features a 35 inch inseam. My sizes were longer than that; I went with the smaller option thanks to a very flexible stretchy denim.

The Petite Garçon is a Peanuts enthusiast and whenever I am shopping J.Crew, I look for Peanuts-licensed gear for him. This haul brought a set of pajamas and a long sleeve tee featuring the entire gang.

Lastly, I ordered the camel colored trousers from Banana Republic, a brand with which I am typically obsessed these days. But I did not even try the pants on. I was repulsed by the condition of the pants out of the package. They were beyond wrinkly. There should be a singular crease down the front. Crease is…not the word for what the pants are. The pants are going back, though I might consider buying them again. Fingers crossed for a pair in the condition one would expect for paying as much as I did.
