My husband and my wedding cake was rose flavored. I was inspired by the rose flavored macarons from The Macaron Bee (RIP), when it was in its original location on Wisconsin Avenue. Back then, the Georgetown bakery was at the midpoint between my office and my apartment; I would treat myself on evenings after I turned in deadline deliverables. When skeptics ask what rose flavor tastes like, the best way I can describe it is that it tastes the way that the flower smells.
In addition to the flavor profile, rose is also a favorite scent. Case-in-point: my collection of rose-scented beauty products…
…and that isn’t even all of them! I realized I excluded my tube of Rosy Pits after I took the roundup photo! I just started to be able to use it again postpartum, as it is not a recommended product for pregnant women.
Among my other go-tos are the Fresh Deep Hydration Face Cream which I applied nearly every night of my pregnancy. The Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumizing Paste is too strong to use daily, but I rotate it with Iles and my husband’s 2-in-1 shampoo / conditioner combination. I love the feeling of exfoliating my scalp with it. At any given time, a travel size package of Sephora Cleansing Wipes in Rose live in my Dopp kit ever since I discovered the product in 2014. I have a tube of Smith’s Rosebud Salve in my LV Accessory Pochette and a tube of the Mario Badescu Rose Lip Balm in my bathroom.
