Five Inside 60 (29)

This week I started pushing myself by jumping on the treadmill for the last round, and admittedly shorter round, of Barry’s. I am not fully engaging with the coach’s directives; rather, I am using the time on the Woodway as a way to both build my running base – which is effectively shot – and also cooling down.

Somehow in the past few months, I have completely lost my stride. I think it has to do with putting on weight as well as my bladder always feeling full. It is obviously tougher to move more pounds, especially when the weight is not entirely muscle. This is where I will give myself credit. All of the double floor classes have helped me build strength. However, this is the point where I know that I need to at least try to slim down and I know that my body will best respond to that if I incorporate more cardio into my routine.

And before you ask, what I won’t be doing is signing up for another race. But I’ll totally be at the Broad Street Run handing out water and Gatorade with the kids and cheering from the sidelines.
