Lilly Pulitzer Reserve

Earlier this week, Lilly Pulitzer released a Reserve collection. Having sourced 1960s styles from the purveyor of resort wardrobes via the secondary market for nearly a decade, I spotted design details that were clearly copied / pasted onto this collection. I am not complaining. I adore that wavy lace detail down the maxi gown and bought it and the beaded skirt each in two sizes to assure that one dress and one skirt would work for me. Fingers crossed.

Aside from the maxi dress, there are eight other styles across women’s, men’s (yes that blazer I mentioned last week finally landed in the online store), girls’, and babies’ assortments. And pray tell, where is the boys’ assortment, of not only the Lilly Pulitzer Reserve collection, but the overall Lilly Pulitzer brand? I demand to know because every time that I buy something from the brand for Petite Garcon, he loves it. His collection has grown to a bow tie and several swim trunks.

This collection is released on the heels of the Palm Beach 65th Anniversary Fashion Show. In addition to women’s and men’s styles from the Reserve collection, the runway featured 45 looks in lavender botanical prints, coastal blues, and fresh greens. Peep that lavender printed maxi. Also, I will be wearing turbans all summer.

I try to encourage responsible spending but if you are considering buying from this collection, keep in mind that there is a gift with purchase promotion running until March 10th.

As great as this collection is, let’s not make this, or the amount of our husbands’ money that we are going to spend on it, our personality.

Got it, ladies? ’tis not original.
