Banana Republic Shirting

Striped shirting that can be worn different ways and a pair of slingback heels, I am certain I will repeat this outfit.

The moment I saw the item images for this dress, it was a no brainer. I love the convertible nature of it! From being able to wear it in the office buttoned down the front, to being able to wear it to happy hour and beyond buttoned asymmetrically which frees up the leg, this black and white stripe frock will take the urban denizen from 6 am (hey, we get early starts, speaking as a mom) to 9 pm (when dad has bedtime duty and there is a passion project task to be done).

I am clearly wearing this dress the asymmetrically buttoned, but as soon as I jumped it the car to get to the office, I buttoned it up more conservatively.

Wearing this dress buttoned to the side will make it more constricting but then again, I am currently in what I refer to as a chunkier phase. I am wearing this dress in a size large tall.

I reached out to my Chanel SA during a particularly tough week while my husband went out of town for work and I had to manage both of my young children as well as a relatively new role at a new company. I did not share with anyone at work that I was solo, in order not to raise any suspicions that I was letting my work obligations slide. Which I didn’t.

I rewarded myself with a pair of classic nude / black Chanel cap toe slingback pumps. They remain some of the most comfortable footwear in my wardrobe. After wearing them to the office, I wore them to an event at the Museum for Art in Wood in Old City.

After initially ordering these in a size 11 and returning them, I am wearing the shoes in a size 12.
