I Bought It / I Like It

Banana Republic was running a 40 percent off Friends & Family promotion at the retail arm (the Factory arm upped the ante to 50 percent off with extra 20 percent off) and I finally pulled the trigger on several styles that I have had my eye on over the past two and a half months, one being that I have been absolutely obsessed since I laid eyes on it. So much so, that I bought it in two sizes because it just need to work.

The item being an apple green poplin drawstring dress, but it just consists of a lot of fabric. I tried on a size tall medium and a size tall large. The tall medium was a better fit but despite it being from the tall size range, the torso was entirely too short. Additionally too much fabric on a large-ish (than usual) body, is not a good look.

I bought a navy and pale grey map print silk dress, navy and white striped shirting a/symmetrically cut convertible shirtdress, and olive green flightsuit. I have big plans to wear all of them with my new yellow Manolo Blanik Hangisi 50 mm heels. When? Monday through Friday at the office. Let’s talk sizing. I bought the map dress and the striped shirting dress in a size tall large. They both can be worn tighter: the map dress ties and the shirting dress can be buttoned up over the side rather than down the center. I bought the flight suit in a size 16 tall. I like the jumpsuit baggy, especially since I have a very long torso.

I am unsure whether I am going to keep the black and white Rorschach test of a silk midi dress, though with a ten day return window, I need to make a decision and quickly! I ordered in a size 14 tall.

Lastly, I ordered an Emilia Wickstead Stepford-esque floral print dress after MyTheresa ran a 40 percent off markdown promotion. I love the red and green floral print. It is complimentary without being holiday. I ordered in a UK 18 / US 14.
