I preordered Elyce Arons’ We’re Might Just Make It After All, on audiobook. Two Thursdays ago, it finally became available and I immediately digested several chapters. I was able to wrap up listening to it during our car ride up to New England for the Fourth of July holiday.

I particularly enjoy memoirs of people who build something, whether that be an iconic brand or just an extraordinary career. Elyce and Katy accomplished both. Furthermore, from the chapter where she discloses both her and Katy’s trip to the financial aid office to their post-transfer full time school and full time work schedules, I was rooting for them.
Elyce details her friendship with Katy from orientation week during undergraduate days to the last day before the latter’s passing. I will say that throughout the book, I was getting the impression that Elyce was the “gardener” of the friendship, and Katy was the “flower” in the relationship. Maybe this was just part of the tribute to the late designer, but the author definitely seemed for into and invested in being friends with the other.
Would I recommend this book? Yes, and I will likely listen to it again.
