I gave quiet luxury my best go three years post the trend’s peak.
the straight mid-rise utility pant
I bought these on a whim and initially in surplus green. They were on sale, available in tall, and one hundred percent cotton. At a time when the brand tends to produce nearly everything in synthetics, I jumped at these natural fiber pants and spiritual sister skirt with utility details, both in army green and in black.
These pant remind me of a pair of silk cargo pants that I procured from, yes, Banana Republic Factory Store circa summer 2003. It was around the time that J.Lo was at her Ben Affleck-part one peak and she wore them. Back then, I bought them in the khaki and black colorways.
I am wearing these pants in a size 16 tall. they start the day on the tighter side but stretch out ever so slightly after sitting in the car, in the meeting, at the desk, you get it.
the kate spade nylon handbag
I carry this handbag whenever my shoulders need a break from my standard purse. Always loaded with essentials for the family, the Kate Spade bag is a sense of relief for my shoulders.
I always wind up carrying my cards and identification, mobile phone, and sunglasses in the bag. I have to draw the line there. I also must remember to grab my cards and ID from the pocket as I forgot last night and had to call my husband for a credit card number to key in, in order to pay the co-pay for my oldest’s optometrist appointment.
