This dress, I could take it or leave it. I got lots of compliments on it, though.
the banana republic organza maxi shirt dress
This was one of the styles that I bought from Banana Republic back in the fall, pre-holiday, though it is a holiday style. I initially ordered it on full price only for it to go forty percent off less than a week after delivery. Luckily, the Banana Republic price adjustment policy is fourteen days of purchase for full price items only, one time only. I was able to get the price adjustment via the chat function online on this dress and two others that I bought at or around the same time.
Despite purchasing this back in October or November, this was my first time wearing it. When I initially tried it on, I did not catch that my hair would, well catch, on the weave of the organza, probably because I had my hair up in a towel post-shower while trying it on. Wearing it with newly blown out hair was a different experience though. Also there were areas of the interior seams that were scratchy against my skin. It was not anything that would stop me from wearing it again, but just not an ideal situation.
Also, I could not get the wrinkles from arriving folded in a package, out of the dress. It has been hung up since I received it and even spent time hanging up in the bathroom during a steamy shower.
One think I love about it, is that the interior slip is separate from the dress. I like that while I will not run the outer shell of the dress through the wash, I can certainly run the slip through a delicate cold cycle. I will probably also end up using it under other dresses as well.

Lately I have been carrying my black Kate Spade nylon shoulder bag. It was a birthday gift from my husband this past year and a total call back to the 1990s.

You cannot tell me that Charlotte York did not have some iteration of this handbag in her 90s wardrobe. I love that this bag is small, ergo I end up carrying much less stuff around with me but unlike Charlotte, always tampons. As such, my shoulder pain has subsided.
