I Bought It / I Love It

Recent picks from the last week of so, majorly driven by a year long obsession with a pair of Louboutins and sassy color block, and a pair of shoes for Petite Garcon.

what I bought and kept

I became obsessed with these watercolor print silk Christian Louboutins Mamadrague flats when I wrote about black, pointe shoe-esque flats at different price points last spring. These shoes have never been on sale and yet, sold out in my size weeks ago at Net-a-Porter.

Thank goodness MyTheresa also stocked the shoes and carried them up to my size. Since my size sold out at Net-a-Porter, I moved on the pair at MyTheresa, regardless of the fact that they never went on sale.

These shoes fit similarly to the studded blush leather version. However, I expect that they will not stretch out as is the case with the width of leather shoes.

I ordered them in a size twelve.

Petite Garçon needed a new pair of shoes. As his last pair was a childs’ 13, we had to go up to a kids’ 1, and I picked the yellow checkerboard print as they were marked down. No shame in my sale-shopping game!

Spoiler alert, they do not fit but I only figured that out once he wore them outside the house.

So I had to order bigger pairs – a size 1.5 and a size 2 – to arrive any day now. I put these are now on ice for Petite Garçon’s little brother.

On that note, the blue checkerboard in size 2 arrived nearly immediately after the order went in.

And then the red checkerboard slip ons in a size 1.5. These are what he is currently wearing.

I wanted to love this dress. As I opened the parcel, I loved the gorpcore utility fabric that did not read on the online product image. Unfortunately, this is a dress that had to be retured.

Note that I ordered this dress in a size large tall.

Then why did this dress barely cover my hiney? That is to say that it runs extremely short.

I was completely taken with the mint green and red contrast color block of this barrel cut dress. And I love a contrast color situation. This frock is not available in tall but the short sleeves, lack of waistline, midi length and cut through the torso, which is somewhat trapeze-like, does not necessitate it.

I have just the pair of embellished mint green block heels to wear them with. I ordered this dress on a size medium, which clearly means it runs big. 🤨

This shirt is not that great. It fits fine but what the product image does not show is that the front shirttails are long. Long enough that is, to tie in the front.

It was not for me.

These jeans are the closest I have found to my first pair of 36 inch inseam denim. They were Abercrombie & Fitch but these are Gap.

I love them, and like the original A&F jeans circa 1999 the inseam is extra extra long, but my waist is larger than the waistband. These are rigid denim so there was not any negotiation with the pants. I would order these again, but only when/after I slim down.
