What I wore to the philly has heART x 3rd Street Gallery event…
the banana republic cotton poplin swing maxi dress
I bought this dress at the end of last summer after I fell in love with the black colorway in the same style earlier in the year. What I do not love about this dress is that the canvas utility straps are a different shade than the bright white throughout the dress. It also does not have pockets, but the style is such that a set of pockets would not be out of place. That was not enough of a reason for me to return the dress, though, because I really do love the ease of it.
Finding a bra with straps that would align underneath the straps…was a challenge. I cycled through three different styles before I found one that I could adjust the width of the straps in the back.
I enjoy how roomy the dress is as I am going through a minor chubby phase, and the trapeze cut is just especially accommodating to my fluctuating weight. It is perfect to wear to a pasta dinner, which is where Robert and I went post- philly has heART x 3rd Street Gallery event.
While I wore it once already to a gallery night in Old City on a particularly balmy Friday evening at the end of last summer, I did not notice that it still had an alarm tag still secure to it. Quelle horror and very alarming.
I am wearing this dress in a size tall small. Stranger things have happened.
