I wore this to my oldest’s lower school end of year ceremony and then to the Elsewhere Fair…
the j.crew factory linen-blend sleeveless mini dress
I love this dress so much, that I bought the hydrangea blue hue in addition to the black that I wore last week and the striped version that I will wear next week. While it is also available in red and hunter green, neither color seems right in linen, and to wear during the summer. While J.Crew retail offers a really pretty pale peony color (ahem Peppermint Ice), I have reservations about buying it as it seems to be a shorter length, even though it too is available in tall.
I also do not spy the slash pockets on the retail version. Did I mention that the Factory store version has pockets? It does and if there is one sartorial thing I am obsessed with, dresses with pockets is not it. Dresses with pockets does rank within the top five sartorial obsessions though.
The downside to this dress is that it does not include snappable bra stays at the top of the dress. I found myself checking to make sure my undergarments were not going rogue throughout the day.
the a.emery remly sandals
My A. Emery Pae sandals gathered the majority of my mileage last summer. I kept kicking myself that I did not procure the tan colorway in addition the the black colorway. After I revisited the sandals on the Mona Operandi website, from which I originally purchased them, the Remly style popped up as a recommendation. While they are not the warm tan color I had in mind, the neutral hue will do.
I went up a size from ten in the Pae to an eleven in the Remly.
