At the beginning of June, I was served a targeted ad from Instagram from the dream collaboration between two of my favorite labels: Manolo Blahnik and Emilia Wickstead. The advertisement directed me to the Emilia Wickstead omnichannel website. I however, found myself dismayed.
I wear a size 42 in Manolo Blahnik. I know this, my shoes know this, my husband knows this. I can barely get away with a 41.5 for a slingback; the nature of the style of the Maysli, ie the elasticized back, is a bit more flexible than a full footed pump. 42 is usually where it is at at for my feet. I know this from my Hangisi flats, my Hangisi 50 mm heels, my Allurasan slingback.
So, imagine my disappointment when I clocked that all of these gorgeous shoes were only offered up to a size 41 on the Emilia Wickstead site. And I know what you are going to say:
Lu, have you even checked the Manolo Blahnik omnichannel?
Yes, yes I have.
The Manolo Blahnik websites does not carry this collaboration. Quelle horror.

However just last night, I was downright delighted to discover that the collaboration is offered in up to not only a size 42, but also a size 43, at Net-a-Porter. Beyond that, there is also an Emilia Wickstead x Manolo Blahnik clothing collaboration which I had yet to uncover via the Emilia Wickstead site. Will I be buying anything from the collection soon? Likely not, I am not made of money, but then again my birthday is coming up and I just love the magnolia print against the navy blue BB heels, the foil Hangisi of heel and flat variety, and the black jacquard flat.
Three pairs of Manolo Blahnik shoes is not excessive…is it?
