For the Friday prior to Fourth of July, when the temperatures topped one hundred degrees, I wore this.
the abercrombie & fitch high neck traveler mini dress
I bought this in the black and white, and the white and black colorways last summer. The color story of both remind me of the Meredith Blake character in the 1998 version of The Parent Trap. This is the first style of athletic dress that I have found to be available in tall size range so there really was not an excuse not to stock up.
This style has built-in shorts so even though it is a shorter style, I do not feel overexposed. The only con to this dress is that it zips up and has a hook and eye in the back.
Fun fact: I was originally sent a dress that had medium tall on the interior tag and an extra large tall on the hang tag. Cue total panic when I could not shimmy into that dress. After the reality check, I traded the medium tall for an extra large tall.
the a.emery pae sandals
At the end of 2024, I was rewatching And Just Like That season one which made me revisit my blog post about Natasha’s style. In the original post, I even found some of the very items that she wore during the latter series.
Upon looking back at the links for some of the (sold out) pieces the character wore on the show, the A.Emery Pae sandals were suggested items in lieu of the no longer available pieces from Natasha’s wardrobe. At $99, on markdown, they were a steal. Available in black and tan, I selected the former as I wanted a more minimal black sandal than my Jack Rogers. I went on to wear these sandals for miles of walking around Philadelphia last summer. My only regret? Not buying the tan version.
I bought my Pae sandals in a size ten; I would go up if I had to buy them again.
