the j.crew billie double poplin gingham dress
Recently I purchased three linen shift dresses from J.Crew Factory. They are all of the same standard shift dress style and initially I thought it was the Factory version of the dress I wore to First Friday last week. And while it may feel more similar in the peppermint ice linen colorway, I chose the teal and white gingham double cotton poplin version. The retail version of the dress feels much more sturdy; I do not have to worry about any wayward wind or walking over a gusty subway grate. No wardrobe malfunctions in this frock.
On the other hand, the retail version of the dress does not have pockets whereas the Factory version of the shift dress does and I stand by dresses with pockets being the absolute best.
I am wearing this dress in a size tall sixteen.
the alison lou x loveshackfancy hoop earrings
Ever since Lilly Pulitzer teamed up with Target, I have been a major enthusiast of brand x brand collaborations. There is something about the scarcity of a limited run collection that makes me want to Add to Bag. Granted, I did not discover this particular collaboration between Alison Lou and Loveshackfancy until a solid month or two after it was released. Luckily there were several of the colorways in both the small and large hoop options available to purchase and as recently as a few weeks ago, they are still available via Alison Lou archive sales. The colorways are actually different floral prints encased in clear “Loucite.”
I ordered two of each size, this multicolor pair in this particular post being one of the larger versions. I appreciate how lightweight Alison Lou hoop earrings are; there is no pulling down on the earlobe.
I suppose that is the beauty of “Loucite.”
