Stretch-Cotton Utility Dress II

I am so happy that Banana Republic made this dress in tall. All too often the longer hemlines are skipped in favor for production in standard size only. Not this amazing frock, however!

By now it should be no surprise that I am obsessed with utility details on my clothing. The big pockets, snap front, and belt which I skipped this day, are everything to me. So much so, that as soon as the dress went live on the Banana Republic website, I bought it full price as soon as I found out it was available in tall size range. I love the utilitarian shape. I love the pockets. I love the ripstop gorpcore fabric, which is the same as that of this jumpsuit I bought and subsequently wore all last winter.

The coverage of the shirt is ideal. As opposed to potential gaping of a button front shirt, there is a solid amount of overlap fabric between the two layers in the top of this dress. Gaps between the snaps is a nonissue in this dress; no worries of overexposure of one’s undergarments here! As such, I will be wearing this dress to the office into the fall.

As with most shirt dresses, I do not love how the back belt loop for the self belt land so high but I do not feel the need to wear the dress belted all of the time.

I had a friend who once made fun of how Audrina Patridge because back in the day, she was notorious for procuring the same styles in several colors. I never clocked this. However, something I do recall is making an arguement for why I buy the same item in more than one colorway; it is so rare to find a style that works for someone topping six feet. (Audrina is allegedly 5′-5″ tall, so, you are on your own girl.) All this is to say is that I bought this dress in both the navy blue and the army green options.

I am wearing this dress in a size large tall.
