I am especially into Missoni’s zig zag stripes right this minute, particularly in resort-friendly styles. Chalk it up to the yearning for venturing somewhere warm and remote. Give me no access to wifi or the outside world and a helping of zig zags. Though they are unmistakably Missoni, the brand is legendary.
Did you know that Missoni traces it’s roots to the 1953 greater-Milan area? Founders Rosita and Ottavio passed down the brand to their daughter and sons in the 1990s: Angela, Luca, and Vittorio. Tragically, the latter perished in a aviation accident in 2013, RIP. Though granddaughter of the Missoni OGs, Margherita Maccapani Missoni, was previously involved with the company by way of designing for the M diffusion line, she is no longer involved with the company.
As opposed to their Target collaborations, eBay flips withstanding (Margherita was quoted via her Twitter account, “You guys! Very silly to buy #missonifortarget on ebay for three times the price!!
