Fit-my e-ring again-ness 1

I love my engagement ring. I knew it was the one when I saw it; the setting was just so unusual. I shared it with my then-boyfriend and told him not to go into debt buying it. I had already waited thirty years, what’s another?

I can barely fit my engagement ring on my ring finger these days. I had better luck doing so while I was pregnant. Rather than some crazy weight loss resolution, my goal for 2022 is to be able to fit my engagement back on my ring finger.

When I trained for half marathons circa 2012 and 2013 (each on the cusp of spring / summer), I started on the treadmill. I never had a tolerance for the cold. I would transition to trail and road training in March. This won’t be a shock to anyone who follows my Instagram but between the two, I prefer outdoors when the weather is pleasant or even hot and humid. I think it has something to do with hitting a runner’s high as soon as I break a sweat.

With the embassy gym a mere three-ish blocks away and being fully vaccinated and boosted, I do not have much of an excuse not to start jogging again. This past week, I went a whopping two times and only jogged for a few three minute intervals during each session. Baby steps.

Let’s meet back here next week, same time same place, for a check in?
