Tragic news: the gym that has not been open since the middle of January, is still not open. It took going there only to see a closed sign. And I was so amped to go for a run. Consequently I am getting another week of winter park walking and indoor weight and body weight training.
On that note, I started a month-long push-up challenge. This one is unlike the one I did on 2017, which was a proper push-up on the toes corresponding to the date number. It is also unlike the push-up challenge from the “halcyon” days of the pandemic. This challenge is going to get me to twenty modified push-ups. Rather than just going through the challenge via the standard arm position, I am also using the guide to get me to twenty tricep push-ups.
One of my favorite parts of last week was taking the Pamper Pirate for a sled ride throughout the park. About a mile and a half into it, we noticed that he was being especially quiet. As it turns out, the Pamper Pirate was dozing off. We stood him up and walked with him for a few yards. That managed to wake him up. He was placed back in the sled and away we went, as fast as possible, before he started to get sleepy again.
Let’s meet back here next week, same time same place, for a check in?
