It finally happened. We hired a nanny. Three days a week for six hours a day, she is with the Pamper Pirate. As such, I have been able to go running each day, shower without peering out the bathroom to the bedroom playpen, and do a huge chunk of work for my 9 to 5. The lattermost has allowed me to go to sleep much earlier than normal. We are talking pre-midnight!
the Nike Run Club app
I am a longtime fan of the Nike Run Club app but I don’t know that I have ever mentioned it on the blog. It got me back into running during the throes of the pandemic, immediately after I was cleared to exercise postpartum. My favorite NRC app feature is the guided runs. A voiceover from Coach Bennett (usually, sometimes you get a guest coach solo or in addition to) plays in the background pending the time or distance of the run. And yes, there are runs for various times and runs for various distances. I love having a hype man chime in; the runs always give me food for thought and are inspiring.
In addition to my monthly strength challenges, I am going to track the NRC guided runs this summer. In reverse chronological order:
- Tough Day Easy Run // 20 minute run
- First Run // 20 minute run
- Running for More: Connections // 25 minute run

I am moving along on the July tricep dip challenge. (Is July just flying by?) I tend to forget to do them over the weekend; I make sure to do a makeup set on Monday and a set ahead of time on Friday. The rest days are the best days!

Let’s meet back here next week, same time same place, for a check in?
