the Banana Republic Factory Store clio bootcut corduroy pants
I ordered these in back at the beginning of holiday. Initially I ordered a size ten tall in the rust colorway, but they were a touch too small. After sending back the original order, the black colorway in a size up became available after a restock. I immediately ordered them and was relieved when I received the shipment notification.
The pants are described as a bootcut, but I think the cut is between that and a wide leg trouser cut. This, along with the fact that they run extra long (hell yes!) and therefore require to be worn with a block heel, allows them to have potential for a dressier occasion. The last time I wore them was to the Union League for dinner followed by the ballet with a silk tuxedo-esque sleeveless shirt. Ten out of ten recommend.
I am wearing a size twelve tall in the pants; they run smaller in the waist.
the David Yurman cuffs
I am a fan of mixing metals across my jewelry, handbag, sunglasses, sometimes shoes with one caveat. I need to be wearing at least one piece that mixes more than one tone. For this outfit, in addition to my Cartier Tank Française, my David Yurman cuffs are doing the trick, thus blending the silver tone hardware of my sunglasses with the gold tone of my purse.
The gold in my Tank Française is especially delicate. Even though I am not precious with it or my other fancy stuff, I stopped stacking bracelets with it after Meghan Markle did and nearly incited an online riot with the royal-slash-timepiece set.
The cuffs are available in small, medium, and large. My wrists are inexplicably small in relation to the rest of my body and as such, wearing that size is a nonnegotiable.
