Spring Capsule Wardrobe IIX

Wearing the sweater that I spent 24 hours in, over two flights, between three continents, with something a bit more peacock-y.

Just call me gothic big bird.

the banana republic ostrich feather skirt

I wasn’t crazy about this skirt the first time I spied it, mostly because I was so overwhelmed by the absolutely stellar selection Banana Republic released for holiday. I ended up purchasing a ton from the collection, mostly on markdown, sent directly to the states rather than to the embassy.

I love the skirt though! I don’t even care if I leave a minor trail of feathers wherever I go. I don’t even care if it wasn’t offered in tall, thereby making it extra mini. Balanced with a roomier top, it doesn’t come off as tart-ish.

I am wearing the skirt in a size twelve.

the toteme striped turtleneck sweater

Though I have already lamented about this sweater, I will talk about it more because I am just that obsessed with it and have worn it numerous times. The fabric content, cotton and wool, is great. No synthetic crap here. The vents on the sides keep me from getting too toasty, though I always layer this with a knit during the winter or when I am on a plane. Speaking of planes, I wore this very sweater during the flights from Kazakhstan to D.C. Yes, I was wearing the Toteme striped turtleneck sweater for over 24 hours. That’s sartorial amore.

I am wearing this sweater in an extra large, though I could have, should have gone down a size. You just never can be sure when trying a contemporary label for the first time.
