Anon Pls by the recently – within the past year and a half – uncovered DeuxMoi, is an easily digestible, fun-to-read novel. I burnt through this within five days. This roman à clef namechecked several IRL celebrities, as well as faux celebrities, social media personalities, and businesses. Sorting out which characters Madison Lee, tiktokker and recording artist, and Duke Dudley, big name movie star, were based upon were fairly obvious. If you are looking for a beach read or even something to get lost in while on a flight, pick up this book!

Party of One: A Memoir in 21 Songs never gets old. Former MTV VJ Dave Holmes is hilarious and his sense of humor shines in this primary source material of the golden age of Music Television. Since the spring of 2016, I have read his memoir at least once a year. I love to immerse myself in popular culture during the 1980s, the advent of MTV, living in Manhattan during the 90s, and the importance of waking up early for a could-be crucial day. I always find myself identifying with his takeaway from his very spiritual journey as prompted by some very special tea; he found himself just wanting to mellow out on his own along with some of his favorite music. Hence Party of One.
