Back in 2022, Chanel released the classic maxi-sized caviar leather handbag in the most gorgeous, dreamiest, springy-est of lilac shades. This was around the time that I purchased the classic large-size caviar leather handbag in black and as it is a staple color available year round, I have massive regret that I did not buy the maxi in the lilac and before that, the 19 in coral cotton canvas, even though my eventual selection presents more opportunities for carrying.

Since then, the classic maxi has not been released in a particularly compelling hue in caviar leather and the 19 has not been released in a comparable color and fabric. When I say compelling, I am referring to a bright or a pastel in either caviar leather for the classic or a non-tweed textile for the 19; I find the 19 in the leather to be super puffy, not unlike Madonna’s current face.
Why do I need a large(r) handbag? The reason is twofold. Other than needing the bigger bag to carry necessities, the smaller bags look ridiculous as carried by someone topping six feet tall. Proportionally, I can get away with carrying the bigger bag, so why wouldn’t I carry the bigger bag?
But maybe your height is not nearly aggressive as mine and / or you prefer the mini or small bags that have dominated the market in recent years.
