I Bought It / I Like It

In hindsight, I regretted not archiving items from my oldest son’s first year. With the arrival of our youngest, I was so excited to start putting together memory boxes for both of the boys.

I ordered personalized Petite Keep Grand Classic Trunk for both of my sons, a yellow with the Serene Green fabric as the lining (color choice was an indication of how we wanted our first to be a surprise) for my oldest, and a dark green with the Timeless Trellis fabric as the lining (as we knew we were having a boy), for my youngest. I ordered each trunk embroidered with each of their names and birthdates in the Hudson typeface.

Getting real about this product…

The Petite Keep flagship product is not as great at the Influencers™ would have you believe. I ordered these with an influencer’s code (name redacted to protect the guilty) for ten percent off. Said influencer raved and posted about it multiple times across her blog and Instagram channel about the product but aside from the ho-hum, flimsy metal shell which was unimpressive in its own right, both of the trunks arrived damaged. The right hinge on the green trunk was broken. The finish on the yellow trunk was scratched up. Certainly not the “heirloom quality” that both the brand and the influencer touted.

To be transparent, I lost my shit in the initial email I sent to Petite Keep. I spent 500 dollars on this purchase, for the otherwise-mediocre items to arrive in the damaged condition that they did. After two weeks without a response, I followed up via email. After another two weeks pass, I sent a toned down version of my first email via the Petite Keep contact us page. This finally yielded a response, though the company claimed that my initial two emails were not received, and yes, I double and triple checked that I typed the email address for accuracy.

Less than two weeks after I sent the request via the Petite Keep contact us page, we received replacement trunks.

Bottom line is that the Petite Keep Grand Classic Trunks are underwhelming. Even though the replacements are not damaged, I am not impressed with the quality and do not think they are worth the money. I will say that Petite Keep did not ask me to return the damaged merchandise, and as such, we sent them to the basement for further storage, so it softened the blow of blowing so much money on otherwise disappointing items.
