I was immediately taken with a three piece periwinkle suit. First the third piece, the vest, sets it apart from the standard blazer and pant sets. Second, the bottom being a pair of shorts, rather than a skirt or a pair of pants, breaks a suiting paradigm. Lastly, the spring-y hue takes it to a new level!
With that, I knew I wanted this periwinkle three piece shorts suit. Even though I typically work from home and with a newborn, don’t anticipate immediately returning to work and especially the office, I envision this being a fantastic ensemble for casual Friday, if shorts are permitted.
But wait! I found another nearly identical suit for a lesser price tag, less than half. The downside is that the shorts are shorter at a cuffed four inch inseam. It is unclear whether the cuff may easily be let down. Aside from being more economical, the upsides are that the blazer is available in a tall size range and the suit has a more palatable (read: natural) fabric content, linen and a eco-friendly polymer.
Just say no to pricey polyester, amirite?
Can you tell which suit is the more expensive option?

the longer jacket is more attractive
