While we were at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Petit Garçon’s only child victory lap (read: I was 32 weeks pregnant with Bebe Deux), we found ourselves watching him beat on some drums in the park’s Africa section. Our little man was going so hard at those dang drums that the face of the (admittedly cheap) watch that Santa gifted him only a few weeks prior, shattered. We confiscated said watch, as to avoid injury.
I reached out to my go-to horologist, Brynn, over at Dimepiece for a recommendation for a new watch for Petit Garçon. She came back with Parchie. Parchie is a relatively young watch brand, named for the founder’s childhood make believe friend. Cara Barrett, formerly of Hodinkee, launched the brand circa 2021.

Four years later, the line is going from DTC to wholesale. This is why, as I inquired earlier this summer, the pricing dove from $65 a pop to about $17 at 75 percent off. But not before I ordered Petit Garçon the School Time Parchie, characterized by its 32 mm teal aluminum case featuring orange numbers, yellow face, dark green nylon Velcro strap, and orange hour arm and turquoise minute arm. Parchie is a diving watch, capable of depths of thirty meters, though Petit Garçon had better not!
These watches make the best gifts for little people who are starting to learn how to tell time and as such, I stocked up. Petite Garçon, being the best little friend a kid could have, is faced with quite the busy social calendar. Birthday parties abound for that kiddo and he never RSVPs no! Having a stock of Parchie watches makes birthday gift giving easy for this mom who only needs to tie a ribbon around the box of the color Petite Garçon picked out for the birthday buddy!
