Mission Resolution: Early Bird

When I lived a block away from Barry’s Philadelphia, I frequently began my days with the first class on the schedule, the 6:10 am. I loved that I could kick off my morning with some movement (spoiler for later this week!), do a bit of training for the half I was prepping for, check off a to-do before most people even start stirring, and treat myself to a shake as a reward. Alas, I no longer live so close to my favorite boutique workout studio and now work in office, making my days a little less flexible.

Our morning routine has expanded to get both of the kids to daycare, which offers an early room. This allows me to – theoretically – be one of the first people in my office, even after a Starbucks pickup. God bless online app ordering!

Even though waking up during the five o’clock hour is near-painful in the moment, especially when sharing a room/sleep schedule with an infant, the results are well worth it. I love cruising into my workspace and having a peaceful moment for breakfast, coffee, and catching up on email. During with that morning ritual, I am able to dig into and fires, and maintain inbox zero, thereby making the early hour / extra time worth it.
