I found myself at an impasse earlier in the fall, almost at the purchase point of a navy pinstripe skirt. Though each of the skirts are available in tall, the front slit is what kept me from pulling the trigger. This would be an item that I would wear to work and I am just not sure that I want to rock the front slit in the office, dontchaknow. Nevertheless, I know that this skirt would work for others and I want to consider whether one should buy one over the other.
price: The more expensive version is $188, while the less expensive version is $180; however the more expensive version goes on promotion more frequently. Don’t expect the less expensive version – tag price – to go on promotion, because it just does not happen. I have not seen it! So really the more expensive version is the more economical option.
fabric: The less expensive tag price (the one that never goes on sale), is 100% wool. The more expensive tag price is a mix of fibers: 53% wool / 42% viscose / 5% elastane. (Is the price starting to make sense now?)
size: The less expensive tag price is available in petite, standard, and tall sizing. The more expensive tag price is now only available in standard sizing; it was at one point available in tall sizing. I get the sense that the tall sizes are long sold out.
coordinating pieces: The less expensive tag price no longer has the matching blazer in stock. The most expensive tag price has a coordinating blazer (available in tall), pants (available in tall), and waistcoat (vest, for the laymen).
design details: The less expensive tag price has a front zip and hook and eye closure and a longer, barely-below-the-knee length, while the more expensive tag price has a side zip closure and a knee length.
