Knock it off with the Toteme Scarf Jacket impersonators, ladies.

Since release circa pandemic era, not only have copycats come after the Toteme neutral stripe turtleneck sweater but also the fringe trim, scarf neck jacket. Since this staple joined my closet upon return to the states in 2023, the jacket carried me through not only November through March two years over, but also accommodated my baby bump during my last pregnancy. The roominess of the jacket is a major draw; I can fit nearly any sweater or sweatshirt beneath it. It runs large; I am wearing a size large.
In the past few weeks I clocked influencers promoting the knock off, probably because they can have a better chance of making the sale for the cheap version…of anything, really.
With decrease in price tag comes the decrease in either detail or quality of fabric. The Toteme version is 68 percent wool, twenty percent recycled wool 20, and twelve percent recycled polyamide. It also has a fringe detail along the hem of the scarf.

Back in December, upon walking into the house after a Barry’s class, my older son informed me that he and baby were going to get me a necklace with two hearts on it, one for each of them, for Christmas. I asked my husband who put this plan in motion, to which I was advised it was, again, Petite Garcon. Nobody knew exactly where this necklace was going to come from, least of all me.
But that changed when I went online to Mignon Faget. My favorite jewelry brand from way back, it gives me a sense of nostalgia whenever I wear it, even it I wear something from a newly released collection. The pieces of which I picked out for my holiday gift from the boys: a pink enamel chain and a large heart and little heart from the Love is Love collection.
Since opening up the gift, I donned the necklace and rarely have taken it off. On this day, I wore it with my pearl and knot necklace and knot earrings, from 2018.
