I Bought It / I Like It

This past two months a ton of things went into my online shopping bags. There is an ongoing joke at my office about all of the shipments I receive. However, when you are as tall as I am, going to a brick-and-mortar store and trying on any old item is just not an option. Why? Because stores do not carry tall size ranges. On that note, can we take a moment to pour one out for all of the best purveyors of styles that used to be located on Walnut Street?

In Memoriam

I loved the 38 inch denim; however there were only select (large) sizes left and the smallest size is still too big. Note that these jeans just run large. The fabric and the cut is fabulous and if there was a smaller size, I would exchange them, alas that is not the case.

The Lilly Pulitzer romper is fine. I wanted it to be taken with it but it just is not very remarkable in person, especially since I have one from the same brand that is remarkable.

Finally the seafoam green dress was a possible candidate to wear to the Philadelphia Museum of Art Art-ish party. There was a stray blackish-gray sequin in the middle of it. Also the slip portion was especially short, which would have been fine but not great. And probably not something I would have worn a second time.

I have great feedback for the following pieces!

I bought wool camel cigarette pants and a grey pleated skirt. The former was tall, while the latter worked in the sole stardand size in which it was offered. That rarely happens. Rejoice. I ordered the former in a size 14 – runs small – and the latter in a size 12 – zip close with a stretchy waistband.

Petite Garcon loves his new rubber rain boots, but that is no surprise as he just sized up from his little grey boots, same style.

Tucker comes through again. I had been waiting for this print to come online for seemingly the longest time. The yellow leopard print was eventually released in several styles. I forgot about it while I was pregnant with Bebe Deux, but I shopped the brand just in time to find it in XXL in the brand’s going going gone sale. I will be taking it to the tailor later on in the season to have it altered. I bought the Hangisi 50 mm heels to wear with my Art-ish outfit. I love the lowest Hangisi heel option (also available in 70, 90, and 110 options), not only for my height but also because it makes it more appropriate for everyday daytime wear. I am wearing the shoes in my normal Manolo Blank size.

I bought classics from the Gap: a cropped trench and a pair of long khaki shorts, both in the extended tall size range option, typical size.

I found my Art-ish outfit! Just in time for the party, La Vie Style House released their spring line and I picked up the midi length dress. Spangles abound! How the one size fits all line looks fab on everyone, I do not know!

I bought a Lilly Pulitzer Reserve maxi dress for myself and a Men’s Stuff pant for my husband’s summer vacation. We are ready to stunt in Marblehead! I bought the dress in the largest size in order to get the longest length, to be altered closer to the time I plan to wear it.

Lastly, I found a one hundred percent cashmere winter accessory set on sale. I love the fabric and the color.
