Banana Republic Utility Dress

What I wore to the ballet last week: Banana Republic and Roger Vivier.

The canvas straps with the D belt loops are the major draw of this dress. I have not seen anything like this, at least not in a very long time. As soon as I learned that it was available in the tall size range, I immediately pictured all the ways I would wear it throughout this summer. Starting with wearing it to the ballet with some elevated accessories and shoes!

Fit-wise, this dress runs large. In fact, I thought I was toeing the line by ordering a medium tall; however it was still too large throughout the body. I returned it for a small tall which still has enough room throughout the body. Thanks to adjustable shoulder straps, it fits all around.

I am wearing this dress in a size small tall. Hell hath frozen over.

I obsessed with these shoes for a solid month before taking the plunge, and only after my initial preferred color way became unavailable in my shoe size. I just love the mod style of these colorblock heels. They give 1960s London / Mondrian in the best way.

The block heel is perfect for anyone who does not want to commit to a stiletto but still likes a lift. Furthermore, I recommend a sturdy block heel for city dwellers who are deep down paranoid of damaging their fancy satin Hangisi heels via scampering about the cobblestone and paver-clad sidewalks.

I am wearing these shoes in a size 11.5. They fit true to size.
