This is what I wore for the most recent Old City First Friday.
the brøgger emery dress
What can be said about this dress that I haven’t already said?
I get the most compliments on this dress. Case in point: last night. I traipsed around Old City and people were blowing up my dress. Some of them, I didn’t even hear. (My husband brought them to my attention.) On the sidewalk. In the galleries. At the restaurant.
The dress is so out there, that a compliment does not have to end the interaction. For example, at PII Gallery, Margaret, the owner, said something nice about the dress, to which I showed her the gridded gorpcore nylon fabric and the black bungee detail that can literally change the shape of the dress.
I am wearing this dress in a size large.
the a.emery pae leather sandals
The black detail on the dress called for a different shoe than my Jack Roger or Sarah Flint Grear sandals. Either would have looked silly with the gorpcore dress. It was clear that I needed something pared down and more minimal on my feet.
I found these sandals while researching what Natasha Najinsky wore during her resurfacing on And Just Like That. I initially thought the shoes would be out of my budget; however I was pleasantly surprised by a relatively accessible MSRP, and beyond that, a markdown price. I would consider buying the tan pair, or if they are sold out, a similar style in a neutral.
I wore these for the first time with the yellow dress and they did not tear up my feet at all. The break in period is nil, and I definitely clocked some steps that evening!
I am wearing the sandals in a size 10.
