Recently, I wore my Boden Clara dress to work. I encountered a challenge in that the spaces between the bust buttons were gaping in a way that made me (and likely anyone interacting with me in the office) uncomfortable.
After a few moments of going back and forth on changing my outfit, all while the family was about to load into the car, I recalled that I had not one but two packages of Matchstick double stick tape, long ago acquired from J.Crew. And I mean long ago, like a decade ago.
Applying the Matchsticks, especially in a hurry, can be tricky. I found the easiest way to successfully apply it, is to start before you even put on the article of clothing.
- Identify the gap in the article of clothing.
- Lay the article of clothing on a flat surface.
- Remove the paper on one side only of the Matchstick.
- Apply to the placket of the gap area of the article of clothing.
- Put on the article of clothing and button up to the section with the Matchstick.
- Remove the paper on the other side of the Matchstick.
- Button the top of the section.
- Press the previously gaping section, affixing the placket to itself.
