The online bag community was shooketh with the emergence of the news that Alo had plans to release premium leather bags. On the other end of the price spectrum, Old Navy released a line of vegan leather (plastic, talk about shooketh!) handbags. Let’s dig in.
The Old Navy handbag collection dropped about two weeks ago. The line of eight-ish styles are available in a slew of autumn shades, some of which can be worn into spring. Looking at you, blush pink. The Old Navy bags are being billed as synthetic material otherwise known as plastic, which explains the 25 dollar to 40 dollar price point.

I will be skipping this collection. I would have considered it if the materials had been genuine leather or suede, alas they are not. Just say no to plastic, be it on you arm or worse yet, on your feet!
Three thousand dollars over the Old Navy price tag, is where the Alo bags are landing. The new bag line consists of four styles: the Voyage, a ringer for the Louis Vuitton Keepall; the Tranquility, a suede tote; the Odessey, a semicircle daughter of the Louis Vuitton Ribera and Nolita; and the Balance, a suede bucket bag.
I will be taking a pass on the Alo bags. It is only a matter of time before a gifted blitz pops up on the arms of influencers everywhere a la the Louis Vuitton Murakami reissue or the Dior Saddle Bag activation of 2018. However, out of curiosity, I did sign up to be updated with news and the availability of the bags.

Ma’am this is not an Hermes quota bag, amirite?
