what I bought and kept
I ordered three sweaters from the Gap (one was back ordered) and two pair of denim from the Gap, both the same cut in different washes. I just wanted to be able to throw on denim and a big sweater and go about my workday. Unfortunately the true black (the dark black) wash fit much smaller than the faded black wash; I only kept the faded. Both of the denim are 16 tall.
Sidebar: I am not necessarily thrilled with the way anything is fitting me these days, but that is only fault of my own. I will say that I am happy enough with the things that do fit, to share them here on the blog.
I wanted to find a gray sweatsuit that would work for a taller woman. Enter Athleta. Even though the medium tall pants are cited as having only a 31 inch inseam, the baggy nature and jogger style just works. I do not love the cropped style of the sweatshirt, but it works with the higher rise of the pants. I bought the gray set in a size XL tall and I ended up enjoying it so much (i.e. wearing it twice in its first week home) that I bought it in the vibrant red. (I am wearing the red as I type.)
I bought two items from the sitewide Banana Republic sale. While I was disappointed in the hiney coverage of this cashmere dress, even in a size extra large tall, this jumpsuit was the most pleasant discovery. I was not expecting miracles in terms of length but after unrolling it, the pants pooled around my feet. I ordered the jumpsuit in an extra large tall.
